The ferry follows Melbourne's seasons. Here's the pattern, then the calendar has the final say.
The backbone of the timetable. Whatever the month, the ferry sails on weekends.
Through the Victorian summer school holidays the ferry runs seven days a week.
From February through to Easter weekend, Fridays join the timetable for long-weekend feel every week.
The Yarra is tidal and the bay is exposed, so high tides and weather genuinely change what we can run on a given day. That means no printed timetable will ever be 100% accurate, and we'd rather be honest about it. The rule is simple: if you can book it, we're sailing. If a date is blocked in the calendar, we're not operating that day.
On a typical sailing day there are several departures from Southgate between late morning and mid-afternoon, with Williamstown departures roughly an hour after each city departure. Exact times for your date show in the calendar. Please check in at the ticket kiosk 15 minutes before departure.

Concession fares require a valid entitlement card, shown at the kiosk. Companion Card, Carer Card, WeCare Card and Hāpai Access Card holders travel with their support person free of charge. Groups of 15 or more receive a discount, details on application.
Schools and group bookings are handled separately from the public ferry: group rates and departure times are arranged with you directly rather than through this timetable. Enquire here, or see our floating lessons for schools.
